Plan to Improve Connectivity Between Cleveland Heights and University Circle Is Complete

One of the first actions of the Heights Bicycle Coalition after its formation in May 2010 was to meet with Cleveland Heights and University Circle leaders to request improved connectivity between the Heights and the Circle.  The following year was dedicated to deciding to pursue and the applying for a Transportation for Livable Communities Initiative (TLCI) planning grant from our municipal planning organization, the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA).  NOACA awared the grant in 2012, then a committee representing the Circle and Cleveland Heights selected Nancy Lyon Stadler of Michael Baker, Jr., Inc., to lead the process.

This past summer, the cities of Cleveland and Cleveland Heights completed a first piece of the plan by repaving Edgehill Road between Overlook Road and Murray Hill Roads, then painting sharrows heading downhill and a buffered bike lane heading uphill.  The final report just became available recently.  It is more than 200 pages long.  A reference copy will soon be available at the Lee Road Library in Cleveland Heights, and we will provide a link to an electronic copy as soon as we can.
